Business Foundations from the beginning of October 2011 took on responsibility for providing business advisory and training services to start-up and existing small businesses in the Rockingham and Kwinana region. This was done with the assistance of the Small Business Development Corporation, the City of Rockingham and the Town of Kwinana. It combines Business Foundations existing responsibilities in the areas of Fremantle, Cockburn and Melville to create a principle service delivery area of 378 km2 with some 300,000 residents and approximately 30,000 small to medium sized businesses.
Business Foundations has also combined the business incubators located in Rockingham and Kwinana to its existing incubation program in Fremantle. This creates Western Australia’s largest business incubator program, and one of the leading programs in Australia with a mix of office space and light industrial units available as part of the mentoring program.
Business Foundations is looking forward to the challenge of working with the six local governments south of the river and with all stakeholders that have an interest in supporting and growing small to medium sized businesses.
