There has been a lot of attention lately on small business commissioners – with a quick succession of appointments in WA, New South Wales and South Australia, however the work behind the scenes of small business bureaucrats has the potential to be lost in the media glare.

Enterprise Connect is an Australian Government initiative of the Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education.

Enterprise Connect has a network of 12 centres located across the country that work with small and medium businesses in industries as diverse as manufacturing, clean technology, resources, defence, tourism and the creative sector by providing business improvement services.

Their our services are available to businesses whether they are located in metropolitan areas, country centres or remote Australia.

The Enterprise Connect centres are staffed by highly skilled Business Advisers who provide access to specialist expertise and the best available technical and business resources to help you transform business in Australia.

I have been waiting for the first shots to be fired in the battle for business policy, and it came last week from the big corporations bugle, The Economist.  The article tries to restart public debate over the value to the economy of big business versus small business.
